Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has admitted. He cannot picture Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez lifting the Premier League trophy at the end of the season.

    The Blues are on a roll and are thought to be title contenders this season. But one area where Enzo Maresca’s side have been criticised is their last-stringer.     “When I think about teams that have won titles, goalkeepers are incredibly important,” Carragher told Sky Bets’ The Overlap programme.

    “At Liverpool, the team I played for, we never had a goalkeeper on the same level as Peter Schmeichel. Edwin van der Sar or Petr Cech.”

    “Liverpool got Alisson (after Carragher retired) and they won the league, that’s what I wanted to say.”

    “Chelsea have been impressive this season. I can’t imagine a goalkeeper (Robert Sanchez) lifting the Premier League trophy.”
